It’s OEM Toyota, you know what you’re getting...
This is actually a fairly simple job if your oil filter housing is leaking oil. The simplest way to access the housing is from the top of the engine, not from underneath, take my advice. Loosen the air intake tube by unscrewing 4 nuts on the mass air flow sensor that attaches to your air filter box and move aside. You will need to loosen a few more small things attached to the air intake tube along with a few vacuum lines. It’s very simple and easy. With the air intake tube removed out of the way, you can now access the heat shield over exhaust manifold that has 2 nuts and 2 screws that you can now easily remove from the engine bay. Now you can access the oil filter housing from above without even getting underneath of the truck. It’s about an hour job, straight forward. You will need to put a towel down underneath or a bucket as once the housing is loosened and removed, some oil does leak out. The small nut on the oil filter housing is 12mm. The large one is an 11/16ths. You will need a 1/2 inch wrench with a 5” extension to loosen the large bolt as the exhaust manifold protrudes too far out for just the wrench but with the extension, removal is easy with a little elbow grease. The 3 gaskets provided are original equipment which your Tacoma needs anyways. Oil leak is fixed. I recommend this Seller and this product 100%. Thank you Yota!
