Best timing chain OSK
Part is awesome with the price. Can't get a better deal with this OSK timing chain for my 1993 pick up truck. Now my engine runs Quiet and smooth. Doesn't sound like a diesel engine ko more.

Best Choice for a chain set
This is the best choice for a timing chain. Here's why: Broken drivers side guide is a symptom. The timing chain set has 3 main parts. A tensioner, guides, and chain. As the set wears the tensioner foot wears and its shaft O-Ring wears. The worn o-ring makes less pressure to keep the chain tight. The worn rubber foot also causes the chain to be not as tight. With time the Chain stretches, slightly changing cam timing and making the chain loose. Many Oil filter brands allow oil to bleed down and allow the chain to slap around for a few seconds during start up. The combination of those factors allows the chain to slap harder and harder until it breaks the guide. The "System" is worn out. The plastic guide goes into the pan, gets chewed up by the crank and eventually clogs the oil pump screen and oil starves the engine. At the same time the chain wears into the aluminum cover and breaches into antifreeze behind the water pump. Chinese timing sets commonly have catastrophic failures of any of the components. Chinese metal is soft. Chinese plastic is incredibly brittle, Chinese rubber wears incredibly fast. I've seen many Chinese sets failed in 10,000 - 30,000 miles. FSM: The Toyota Japan OSK timing set is to be changed every 100,000 miles due to the set being worn out. Typically they last 130,000 - 150,000 before the tensioner can't keep the chain tight and the chain slaps and breaks the plastic guide. *Chinese Metal Backed Guide* Premature Failure I have seen many metal backed guides fail at the top section that sticks up past the mounting point. The metal fatigues and that 3" metal section breaks off, instantly shearing the chain, destroying the cover, oil pump drive gear, and bending valves. *TOYOTA factory Metal Backed Guide* These are not "branded" only Toyota knows the Japanese manufacturer that makes these. If one of these are installed with an OSK set you will most likely get 160,000 - 200,000 miles until the chain or tensioner fails with catastrophic failure. Probably not with the minimal extension of service life and added risk. *Severe off road only use* If you're going to stall out the engine regularly which causes the chain to whip and rotate backwards, a Factory TOYOTA metal guide would be ideal. *oil pump bolt* The upper oil pump bolt is very commonly mixed up with nearly identical looking timing chain cover bolts which are 1/4 inch longer but identical in every other way. If the longer bolt is used it will jam the chain tensioner and not allow it to move freely. This will cause an early failure.
